She’s the Greatest Superhero is an empowering story about a little Black girl who is so inspired by the legendary accounts of iconic Black women, that she cannot wait to grow up to become one. As she considers the character and achievements of these women, she is resolute in her determination that they are superheroes, and declares that one day, when she’s “grown,” she will be a superhero too. The main character also describes young girls whose ages did not restrict their aim.   From Harriet Tubman to Ruby Bridges, these audacious Black women and precocious young ladies displayed levels of courage and excellence to be admired. She’s the Greatest Superhero is a celebration of the Black women who dared to change the course of history and blaze a path for little Black girls to be proud of their heritage and to be proud of who they are today and who they are destined to be in the future.
